New to Blogging

So…I’m new to blogging. I wanted to do something to earn a little money to do girl things. You know, like facials, nails and toes, and more.

I used to be a part time art teacher. I loved that job and I was very good at it. I was employed by the school PTA because the school district only provided art teachers at academy schools. It was a budget issue in the beginning. The PTA parents thought it was important for their students to be educated in art. That meant the PTA raised a LOT of money each year to pay for me and my supplies. Anyway… I worked three days a week, met so many students that I came to love and created art lessons for, while making good friends with many on staff. I worked there 21 years. Then, the school district changed directions and decided to hire art teachers for all elementary schools in the district, including my school. My lack of a bachelors degree made me unqualified. I have an Associates in Fine Art, but that wasn’t good enough despite my experience.

Since then I worked at a law office which was NOT for me. I realized how ‘right brained” I am. The law office work should have been “black and white”, right or wrong. My perception of the world is full of color, not black and white, so I quit. Then I worked retail which didn’t pay much. So, here I am. Making a go at blogging.

I learned about this on Pinterest. There was a pin about blogging by TaylorStanford . Why don’t I try it, I thought. Taylor literally speaks my language!

This is a new journey for me in that I am not computer literate. I don’t know a widget from a plugin. But I am learning! I hope to give you art tips, along with some of my life journey through art and where it takes me.
