My First PopUp Paint Class
I taught my first pop up paint class at Landon Winery on Tuesday night!!! There were 7 eager artists.
To prepare for my artists, I assembled the wood so it looked like planks in a row. The assembled wood boards were sanded and stained and sanded again to give it the worn look. Then, I added a little bit of white paint to a couple of the boards for the farmhouse look. Each board had its own unique look. Precut stencils of monograms and last names were the final preparation for my painters.
When they arrived, I let each lady pick which board they wanted. They chose their colors and painted their monogram on wood and let that dry. The next step was to add their last name in a different contrasting color. It was fun to see how the name was applied to each monogram as every one of the painters had different ideas. These people all said they were not artistic. HA!
As we sipped wine and chatted eventually all was complete! Everyone seemed happy with their completed piece.
The winery was a great place to have this event. They even want me to come back!!! I would like to try to have a class every month!!!
